Michael Brunner, CAIA

Director

Michael is a Director on the Private Equity team at Aksia, based in our Zurich office. He focuses on private equity managers across DACH, Benelux, and France and is involved in all phases of the investment research process, including sourcing, due diligence, and monitoring. He evaluates managers and supports ongoing investment oversight across the private equity lifecycle. Michael is also actively involved in our PE client coverage across continental Europe.

Prior to joining Aksia, Michael was a Portfolio Manager in the private equity team at UBS Asset Management. Earlier in his career, he held roles at LGT Capital Partners and AXA Winterthur Asset Management where he focused on private and public equity, infrastructure, real estate and hedge funds.

Michael graduated from Curtin University in Australia with a bachelor’s degree in economics and finance and first-class honors in finance. He also holds an MA in Banking and Finance from the University of St. Gallen (HSG). Michael is a CAIA, FMVA, and CESGA charterholder.
